Beautiful pair of vintage Louis Rousselet Glass Rhinestone & Faux Pearl Dangle Earrings. Fabulous statement earrings from the highly sought after French designer Louis Rousselet.

Louis Rousselet (1892-1980) was born in Paris. He apprenticed at the young age of eight under M. Rousseau where he learned to master the technique of lamp-work beads. In 1922, in Menilmontant, Louis began manufacturing glass and Galalith beads as well as imitation pearls (glass beads coated on the outside with essence d'Orient, a fish scale compound). Very soon his firm was a major source of handmade beads worldwide, supplying to, and designing for, other jewelry greats like Coco Chanel and Robert Piguet.

These wonderful LR earrings are a silver tone base metal with hand wired faux pearls and prong set rhinestone centers. Features nice big center clear rhinestones framed within the faux pearls. Each earring has four strung dangles with graduated sized faux pearls. They are just so elegant and divine. The hinged ear clasps features nice filigree floral silver tone backs. The back of each earring is signed France. The earrings measure 1/2" wide. Measure 2 1/4" long. Nice light weight and very comfortable to wear. Feels fabulous on the ears. Overall condition is very good for their age. They have some light tarnish or patina on the silver tone metal. Pearls are not missing any surface. They are in pretty clean condition. Hinges are nice and snug without any damage.
