Vintage Antonio Pineda Taxco Mexico Sterling Silver Modernist Dangle Earrings. These are fabulous! Long sterling silver open spirals with three encased pearls in each. Such an artistic and cleaver design. Not only are this incredible but they were made by Antonio Pineda (1919-2009), who was an internationally renowned Mexican Modernist silversmith. He was known and praised for his bold, striking modernistic designs. As a child he studied painting and sculpture. He also apprenticed at William Spratling's Taller de Las Delicias. In 1941 he went out on his own and founded a workshop. Today his designs are highly sought after and collected.

Each earring is hallmarked. One marked 970 for silver content which is a higher purity silver than Sterling, along with an early eagle assay mark. The other is hallmarked with the Antonio Taxco Crown used from 1953 on. The earrings measure 2" long by 5/8" wide across the wide area of the spiral. Combined weight of 20.4 grams. Very good condition with aged patina. One has a tiny ding on the bead ball right in the center. No other issues.
